Vik Muniz is a Brazilian contemporary artist internationally recognized for transforming everyday materials into extraordinary works of art. Born in São Paulo in 1961, he became known for creating images using unconventional materials such as chocolate, sugar, wire, garbage, diamonds, and magazine clippings. His creative process combines photography, sculpture, and visual illusion, challenging viewers' perceptions of reality and representation. Muniz gained worldwide recognition through exhibitions at major institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Tate Modern in London.
